7 Spring Maintenance
Tips
The snow has melted,
the air is warming, and spring is right around the corner, which mean it’s time
for some spring cleaning! So, open the windows, grab an iced tea, and take a
moment to read our 7 spring cleaning tips.
1. Declutter –
As you awaken from your winter hibernation, it’s time to go through the clutter
you accumulated over the course of the cooler months. Buy an under the bed storage
from your favorite local store and go through your winter clothing. Donate any
items you haven’t worn in over a year and store the rest under your bed until
winter comes calling.
2. Dust, dust,
dust – Let’s face it, it’s allergy season. Flowers are blooming and the air
is full of allergens just waiting to greet you. While you can’t control the outdoor
invaders you can take precautionary steps to reduce allergy symptoms inside. Get
out your favorite cleaning products and wipe down windowsills, air vents, ceiling
fans, and any other place dust is hiding in your home.
3. Wipe down the
windows- If you live in a snowy State, chances are your windows have
accumulated residue from the snow and ice. Take a moment to wipe down the
windows (both inside and out) for a crystal-clear view of the greenery springing
to life outside.
4. Clean out that
oven! – We love to bake, or should we say, we love to eat cookies. Either
way, now is the perfect time to clean out your oven and say goodbye to any
lingering winter baking crumbs that have made the bottom of your oven their
home. We know, we know, cleaning out your oven isn’t fun, but we know you can
do it!
5. New season, new
blankets- Wash those winter blankets and store until your next hibernation.
We recommend a light quilt for the spring and summer months. They’re lightweight
and perfect for those warm nights.
6. Get out the
Green – Flowers are a great way to bring brightness into your home. We like
placing small potted plants in our kitchens and living rooms but grabbing a
bouquet from your local marketplace is also a quick way to give your space a small
pop of spring flare.
7. Take a moment
to relax– We don’t want to tell you how to live your life, but after all
that cleaning, we hope that you take time to enjoy your space and the weather
outside, summer will be here before you know it!
